Wildlife Gardening

Christian with lacewing homes web

EcoLocal has received funding for the Carshalton Community Allotment Wildlife Gardening, thanks to players of People’s Postcode Lottery.

Our focus over the autumn and winter is to make the community allotment more wildlife friendly. In October we:
- tidied the bee friendly beds that we made earlier in the year.
- prepared beds for our new Forest Garden plants.
- started gathering materials for the Bug Hotels and dead hedge.
- made 6 bug homes and put up our new bird feeders! We can now start recording the birds we spot.

Join us this Autumn and help us with more improvements to enhance biodiversity and insect life on the plot!

Learn about wildlife and wildlife friendly gardening, prepare and plant bee friendly flower beds, plant our new Forest Garden and feed the birds and make bug homes and hotels!

Bad back, less mobile, can’t kneel? Come work on our access for all raised beds.

Meet other people and chat with tea/ coffee and biscuits during the session and even pick some veg to take home!

When we’re open:

We offer free, drop-in sessions twice a week at the Carshalton Community Allotment with a range of fun activities for all ages and levels of experience.

Mondays 1.00pm – 3.00pm
Fridays 10.30am – 12.30pm

Dress sensibly for the weather- Sun hat, sun cream if hot, layers and a coat if cooler, tough shoes or boots. Click here to find us.
