EcoLocal has a great deal of experience in engaging the local community in making healthier food choices and learning to cook healthy meals for themselves and their families.

- We offer interactive lessons in schools about how children can get their 5-a-day and a healthy balanced diet.
- Our adult Learn to Cook Courses are popular with local residents, providing a chance to gain skills in preparing affordable, quick, easy and healthy meals for all the family.
- We have developed outreach activities designed to get people starting to think about healthy eating. We deliver these activities at fairs, markets and high street locations.

Healthy Eating Promotional Stalls

5 a day tasting stall

Our stalls engage people through a series of fun interactive activities designed to increase awareness about a healthy diet, focusing on how to achieve 5 a day and what constitutes a healthy balanced diet. During trials, 94% of participants at the stalls said the activity had increased their knowledge of healthy eating. Stalls are ideal for promotions in High Streets, at markets, fairs and community events or meetings. Staffed stalls are available to hire from EcoLocal.

Learn to Cook courses

EcoLocal can, subject to funding, provide Learn to Cook courses in and around the Sutton area.

Participants are taught many healthy, nutritious and affordable meal ideas over a three week period.
Learn all about making: cheese sauces, pasta dishes, meat balls, burgers and meat loaf (or veggie equivalents), fruit crumbles, soups, bread…. and more
